The Only 7 Step Formula You Need to Overcome Addiction
Addiction recovery, behavior change, personal growth, John Paul DeMann, VACOG, goal setting, purpose, and action steps are all part of this simple change formula.
Hello folks, John Paul DeMann here.
Today I want to share a simple formula that can help you change almost anything in your life.
It can be an addiction.
It can be a behavior.
It can be a pattern you no longer want to live with.
But here is the important part: you have to follow through, and you only work on one thing at a time until you know you are done with that behavior.
The first step is defining what you want as if it has already happened.
The second step is understanding why you want it. Your purpose has to be clear and compelling because that purpose is what gives the change power.
Then you create the action steps.
You take consistent action.
You review the formula every day.
And if what you are doing is not working, you change your approach.
This is not complicated, but it does require honesty and consistency.
You can also use the VACOG process: visual, auditory, kinesthetic, olfactory, and gustatory, to make the outcome feel more real and give your mind something stronger to move toward.
Change works when you stay with it.
Define the outcome.
Know your purpose.
Take action.
Adjust when needed.
Keep going.
That is how you begin creating the life you actually want.
